On November 16, 2025, the York Region Children’s Aid Society’s Youth Events Committee proudly hosted a warm and festive Holiday Event for young people aged 18–22, along with 16–17-year-olds who may be living independently and connected to our Agency.
Held at the Venu event space in Vaughan, the afternoon brought together 34 youth for a joyful celebration filled with fun, community, and holiday spirit.
Guests were treated to a delicious holiday meal complete with mouthwatering dessert, setting the stage for an evening focused on connection. The event also created a space for youth to interact with staff and peers, strengthening a sense of belonging and community as the holidays approach.
Throughout the afternoon, youth took part in a variety of engaging games—such as flip cup, race-to-wrap, and many others—that allowed them to earn tickets for a raffle filled with exciting prizes. In addition to the games, youth were encouraged to express their creativity through ornament decorating, cookie decorating, and capturing memories in our photo booth. Alongside the raffle and door prizes, each youth also received a festive swag bag to take home.
The success of this event was made possible thanks to the generous contributions from York Region CAS’ Children’s Services, Senior Management, CPIN Support, Legal and Adoption teams whose donations made the raffle prizes possible. A big shoutout as well to the Protection Services team and Pizza Pizza for donating items used in the swag bags.
We also extend a special thanks to TD Bank (TD Gives – Markham) for their generous donation, which helped make this event possible and to Venu Event Space for hosting us!
