On Saturday, June 21, York Region CAS proudly marched in the York Region Pride Parade, joining hundreds of community members in downtown Newmarket to celebrate resilience, unity, and community in hopes to pave a brighter path for all.

This year’s York Pride Festival brought vibrant energy to the streets with carnival games, live performances, child-friendly activities, and much more!

The York Pride Festival is held to help inspire positive change through connection, education, and fun while celebrating queer culture and highlighting the importance of creating inclusive spaces within York Region and beyond.

Pride is a celebration — but it is also a reminder of the work still to be done.

York Region CAS is committed to recognizing, honouring, and supporting the 2SLGBTQ+ community all year round. It is also our commitment that our services respect the diverse and intersecting identities of the children, youth, parents, caregivers, and families we serve.

Special thanks to York Pride for organizing such a fantastic event! We can’t wait to see everyone again next year.
