On September 1, York Region Children’s Aid Society proudly participated as an event sponsor at the grand opening celebration of HALP Park in East Gwillimbury.
The community celebration welcomed more than 5,000 residents, community organizations, and local partners who gathered to explore the new park, enjoy live entertainment and family-friendly activities, and celebrate this exciting addition to the community.
As part of our ongoing foster care recruitment efforts, York Region CAS hosted an information booth where staff connected with residents, shared resources, and answered questions about becoming a foster parent. We were encouraged by the meaningful conversations we had with community members interested in learning how they can support children and youth in need of safe, caring homes.
York Region CAS was also proud to sponsor the face painting station, providing a fun and engaging activity for children and youth attending the event.
We extend our sincere thanks to the many volunteers, sponsors, and community partners who contributed to the success of this celebration. A special thank you to the Town of East Gwillimbury for creating this remarkable community space and for welcoming us to be part of such a memorable day. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with residents and share information about the vital role foster families play in supporting children and youth across York Region.
