On December 13, the York Region CAS Black, Latency, Adolescent, Continued in Care Committee (BLACC) was thrilled to host its second annual Holiday Celebration Event for Black and Black-racialized identifying children and youth in care, in kinship, or living with foster families, along with VYSA and RSG Youth.

Hosted at our Agency’s head office in Newmarket, our first-floor Boardroom came alive with music, laughter, and a strong sense of community.

Guests enjoyed an engaging youth host, a meaningful Kwanzaa teaching, lively entertainment (including very talented York Region CAS staff), mind-blowing magic tricks, delicious Afro-Caribbean cuisine, and live DJ music that kept the energy high throughout the evening.

The event was capped off with exciting giveaways that brought smiles all around. Alongside the giveaways, each youth also received gift bags to take home, adding an extra touch of joy to the holiday season.

The success of this event was made possible thanks to our dedicated staff and the generous contributions from Grace Foods Canada Inc. and Arenson Dental and Associates – Richmond Hill.

This celebration was a beautiful opportunity to honour culture, build connections, and spread holiday joy. On behalf of York Region CAS, we are so grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a memorable success.
