February 26, 2026 – York Region Children’s Aid Society (YRCAS) values diversity, equity, and inclusion. We respect the dignity, beliefs, and ideas of all individuals and remain dedicated to fostering a workplace where everyone can work and receive services with dignity and respect.
In 2020, the Ministry conducted an operational review of YRCAS and commissioned Agree Inc. to conduct a Workplace Assessment. The Agree Inc. report provided the Ministry with several areas where improvements could be made at the Agency regarding human resources, diversity, equity and inclusion and leadership amongst other things. The Board and Agency took this report seriously and recommendations were implemented.
In 2025, the Board requested Agree Inc. to complete a follow-up Workplace Assessment to build on the 2020 assessment. With the 2025 update now complete and shared with all employees, we know that while progress was made, there is more work ahead to drive lasting organizational change.
York Region Children’s Aid Society supports the recommendations from the workplace assessment and remains committed to working collaboratively with our staff and union partners to thoughtfully review the recommendations and move forward together.
Our commitment to children, youth, and families across York Region remains unwavering and our entire team remains focused on supporting children, youth and families in our community. We continue to work closely with the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services and fulfilling our critical role in York Region.
Our work continues without interruption, and we are deeply grateful for the professionalism, dedication, and hard work of our staff, who remain focused every day on supporting the community.
