This winter, York Region CAS invites you to embrace the warmth of compassion by joining our team for the Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) fundraiser walk on February 28, 2026.

The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly winter walk dedicated to supporting people in our communities who are experiencing hurt, hunger, and housing insecurity. By walking in the cold, we gain a small glimpse into the challenges faced by those who are unhoused during the winter months—and by fundraising, we help make a real and lasting difference.

CNOY is more than just a walk. Since its inception in 2011, this powerful national movement has raised over $75 million, supporting 190 communities across Canada. This year, York Region CAS is proud to take part in the walk in Richmond Hill, in support of Blue Door, an organization that works tirelessly to ensure people experiencing or at risk of homelessness are supported with dignity, safety, and hope.

We encourage our community members to join us by registering and walking with us on event day.

Can’t make it to the official route?  Everyone is invited to be part of the impact. You’re still welcome to participate by walking off-site or donating!

As we gather for good, let’s confront the cold together and create a ripple of warmth and hope for those who need it most.
