September 22-26 is National Truth and Reconciliation Week.
Each September, we are called to unlearn, relearn, and honour the truths of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit families. Reconciliation begins with listening — to survivors, to knowledge keepers, and to the stories of the children who never came home.
Throughout the month, York Region CAS’ Honouring Indigenous Commitments Committee (HICC) will be hosting learning sessions, engagement opportunities, and moments of reflection for all staff, in collaboration with community knowledge keepers.
Let’s walk the path of truth together.
