Today, York Region CAS joins Children’s Aid Societies, Indigenous Child and Family Well-Being Agencies, and community partners across Ontario in recognizing Dress Purple Day.
Dress Purple Day is an annual awareness campaign that celebrates the people, relationships, and services that help children, youth, and families thrive. This year’s theme, “It Takes a Community,” and the hashtag #HereToHelp highlight the important role we all play in supporting the safety, well-being, and success of children, youth, and families.
We are proud that both the Town of Newmarket and the City of Richmond Hill have officially recognized Dress Purple Day through signed proclamations, demonstrating their commitment to supporting children, youth, and families in our communities.
To further mark the occasion, the Fred A. Lundy Bridge in Newmarket will be illuminated in purple from sunset until 11 p.m. this evening, serving as a visible reminder that children, youth, and families are strongest when communities work together.
We encourage everyone to wear purple, share their support on social media using #DressPurpleDay and #HereToHelp, and help raise awareness about the importance of community in helping children, youth, and families thrive.
Together, we can help ensure every child, youth, and family knows there is a community that is #HereToHelp.
