York Region Children’s Aid Society is proud to celebrate long-time volunteer Beulah Osei, who was recently recognized with the prestigious 2025 June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism. This distinguished honour celebrates Beulah’s remarkable leadership, innovation, and enduring commitment to the well-being of children, youth, and families in York Region.
Beulah received her award during a moving community celebration in Markham, where hundreds gathered, including local MPPs, to recognize outstanding volunteers from across the region. Surrounded by close family, friends, and York Region CAS staff, Beulah was honoured for the significant impact she has made over many years of dedicated service.
The June Callwood Award, named after the late Canadian author, journalist, and social activist, is one of Ontario’s highest recognitions for volunteer service. This year, 15 individuals and four organizations across Ontario were selected for their extraordinary contributions in fields such as youth advocacy, mental health, the arts, and work with vulnerable populations. Each recipient embodies the spirit of volunteerism that strengthens our province and builds resilient, compassionate communities.
Beulah’s contributions to York Region CAS have left a lasting impression. Her unwavering compassion, tireless energy, and deep belief in the potential of every child have inspired those around her and advanced the mission of our organization in meaningful ways.
We extend our deepest congratulations and heartfelt gratitude to Beulah Osei for this well-deserved recognition. Her example reminds us that every individual has the power to make a difference in their community.
