WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I CALL?
When you call about a child protection concern, you will be able
to speak to a child protection worker who has the expertise to help you. The worker
will ask for some information, including the child's name, age and whereabouts, and
why you are concerned about the child's safety or wellbeing.
If there is child welfare issue, a worker will investigate to decide
if the child needs to be protected by Children's Aid Society or if they would benefit
from additional community supports and services.
Each family and child is entitled to their privacy. We cannot provide
information about the status of a referral or investigation without the written consent
of the family involved.
