CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION

October is child abuse and neglect prevention month in Ontario. Throughout the month, children’s aid societies across the province participate in the Use Your Campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to:

• inform the public and professionals of the effects of child abuse and neglect on children
• inform the public and professionals of their duty to report child abuse and neglect
• to educate the community of the importance of early intervention and prevention of child abuse and neglect
