Who Can Foster?
Our foster parents are residents of York Region and are at least 18 years of age. They may be married or single, have children of their own or not. Our foster families come from a variety of cultural, spiritual, economic, and lifestyle situations.

Successful foster families tend to share some common characteristics, though. They often:

• View children as precious, and place high value on parenting
• Have a basic understanding of children, their development, and their needs
• Enjoy new learning
• Love to laugh, and have an optimistic and positive life view
• Are patient, consistent, yet able to meet new challenges with flexibility
