Many families of children we serve struggle
on a day-to-day basis to provide even the basic necessities
for their children. Providing opportunities for educational
advancement or even the simple experiences that make childhood
special, are just not possible.
Opportunities like learning a musical instrument, playing
sports, going to camp and post-secondary education are extremely
important to the development of children and youths. They
are especially crucial for those who have been abused or neglected.
Positive, confidence-building experiences help vulnerable
children and youths rebuild their self-esteem and develop
to their fullest potential.
The Children’s Aid Foundation of York Region was created
to enrich and expand the services to kids in care of the society.
Through annual fundraisers at Paramount Canada’s Wonderland
and Markville Shopping Centre, the Foundation is able to raise
funds in support of programs that offer children positive
life experiences.
