BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND STANDING COMMITTEE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Board of Directors:

The role of the board of directors is to ensure that children and youth in need of protection receive the services and supports they require in an effective, efficient and timely manner. Board members are required to attend board meetings once per month and sit on at least one standing committee.

Standing Committee of the Board:

Continuous Quality Improvement Committee is responsible to ensure the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of services to the children and families the Society serves.

Diversity Committee is responsible to ensure that diversity is reflected in all aspects of the organization, including the recruitment of Board and staff and the development of programs and service delivery methods.

Finance Committee is responsible to oversee and ensure the financial stability of the Society.

Governance Committee is responsible to ensure the evaluation, orientation, training and development of the governing body as well as executive director.

Planning Committee is responsible to set the overall direction of the Society through the development and implementation of the strategic planning process.

Policy/Advocacy Committee is responsible to develop, approve and monitor policies of the Society and to identify and advocate on issues of importance to the Society and its constituents.
